Tiffany Christmas Ornaments

you skin it totally safe in the pines, listen to as quickly as possible after the two of us! So probably no one would have expected. But often comes unexpectedly! And who does not love pleasant surprises?

Ta ta ta ta: So here we are!

Just at the moment are We slowly back to the hopeful road to recovery. The last 7 days were marked by rather rebellious digestions to high body temperatures and, unfortunately, from the rather unpleasant discipline of the reverse-eating. But weeds do not know, so goes.

I fear that the youthful recklessness and a good dose of luck are the founders of our state.

but already in advance: it was worth and we regret NOTHING!

now but let's start again.

Thursday 12.11. was finally the time has come where we have feverish since the arrival here in India contrary: opening ceremony of the new hostel building. For this memorable event went of course, the woman responsible for PRACHODANA Braun, with a home-pounds for each of us.

Among the treasures were flown to: (Trommelwirbel. ..), the unique, distinctive Dr. Oetker Gala chocolate pudding, a folding-gingerbread-house sprayed here in the middle of dusty Hassan a delicate touch of Christmas and a gros-like, comprehensive collection of schmaltzy, exciting, funny and just plain heartbreaking final DVD's. Thank you to the two best mom's in the world, bravely holding the home position.

at the ceremony was much welcomed and thanked even more, and in between were the performances of our Hostel mice. Thereafter, in several layers of many different dishes verspeißt, as always, of course, on banana leaves. With the feast of the dedication ceremony was over quite abpruppt, and fears such as: to give a speech or have requested to be spontaneous on stage and sing to us is what God had spared you so we could enjoy the celebration really.

Two days later, the two Vikasana-girl for a lightning visit here with us in Hassan announced to a meeting with us and Mrs Brown to have.

What we sweetened the reunion with the two by 100%, the spontaneous decision we have taken the night before and approved, can we pay a Projekbesuch the two and would simply take back. No sooner said than done!

At the point we can only again after a big THANK YOU to this, in our opinion, direct, easiest project ever.

On the Saturday evening we have just the great feeling to finally wiedermal enjoyed being in a group, have fallen from one topic to another, were not to stop attacks in our narrative.

Sunday we first time met the grounds of both tours, the children and made the afternoon a little trip to a playground. Of the children we have been immediately adopted, and have their opinion can remain secure even longer.

the evening we cooked together, pasta with pesto, which have captured the two in Bangalore and shared with us sister!

On Monday we got together with the children at 6 clock first and then it was early morning exercise in a coma state.

After breakfast we went by bus to a temple in Kallathigiri below the Falls the Rock is struck.

Unfortunately it started raining at the moment in which we got off the bus. But what is a real Indian woman in such a way that knows neither cold nor wet. So it went on forward towards temples. Once there, a large crowd just held a worship ceremony in worship of the god Shiva.

That was quite nice but non-actual object of our excursion. Right next to the temple a rocky rise is multiplying, for our untrained and ignorant eyes, it looked more like a bad, slippery rock face. But the exchange mentor Shruti insisted irrefutable fact, as we would have high and then would be quite harmless on.

non Ask how we come up there we are!

the top, like a door opened to a fairy tale castle that lies hidden behind a password völlg large, thorny hedge; opened for us the eyes to the most charming and well unberühertsten Stückchnen Indian jungle. From then on it was good 2 hours barefoot through the mud (and I do not know what else is gequiltschtert our toes).

Alone, the rain was enough to march us to the underwear durchzuweichen. As does suddenly round a bend, a bathing pool with waterfall to stand under it and slide on experiences. On your marks, and .... "Pants off and into the icy wet" was our motto.

ended after half an hour bathing an inquisitive, voracious ape that was our field pack incredibly interesting apruppt our exuberant Besammensein.

Fully soaked and shivering limbs, we were on the way back.

also in the bus that took us back to Tarik, we left dripping wet stains on the seats.

Back in the project, we showered very hot and had dinner.

We had a great weekend, and yet we had huge I desire for our children and the lovely people here Prachodana.

Since Thursday of this week has now endlch the long-awaited move began and now we are looking forward to awful, and it can not wait to finally live with our children and our friends under one roof.

Now we send you many greetings in the pre-Christmas Germany.

How Much To Join Weymouth Club

I: Courts

After two months, I unfortunately have to say that I've tried almost all the dishes available here already, for the food variety is keeping rather limited. The dinner I am used to and some dishes I eat so much that I will try to cook in Germany. Rice, however, I can see now no more, because it too often and because it is cooked in my project the same. And I was on top, always happy to eat rice because it was something familiar to which I did not have to get used yet. The cooking is done with a little spice, but a lot of Pepe (like chili). That is, we had to get used to at the beginning of the focus. The usual Ingredients are available on the market tomatoes, Pepe, fish, all sorts of parts of cows and chickens, eggs, instant noodles and rare cabbage, cucumbers and carrots.
to list I will now present times the usual dishes here.

Rice is here as a "White Rice" with Stew (more on that later), "Rice Jolof" (red-fried with vegetables and lots of little Pepe) "Fried Rice" (white fried rice) served.

noodles here are predominantly in two different variations: "Indomie (instant noodles, which are named after the best-selling brand) or spaghetti, which are eaten with stew.

Very often are also various types of porridge are eaten with various sauces. The solid pulp is eaten by hand and dipped in the sauce. You eat but only with the right hand because the left is considered dirty.
There Semovita (from semolina), white and black Amala (from?), Pounded yam (from yam), fufu (from cassava and plantain), Eba (from cassava) and Wheat (wheat). As is often
sauce Stew (mitgegart a sharp sauce of tomatoes, onions, Pepe and salt in the meat or fish) is mixed with okra, a greenish sauce which makes the Stew slimy and neutralized.
There are also some other sauces that I will not list them all here.

Yam is a great root vegetables, which taste like potatoes. It is either boiled, fried or pounded to Yam porridge. Potatoes are also here, but rare, and they taste sweeter than ours.

Plantain called this the plantains, fried served with rice or eaten grilled.

beans (black-eyed peas) are here to cooked rice served or eaten with gari (dried cassava flour) or bread.

Moin-Moin is an egg dish that is cooked with fish or a whole egg in the interior in a form. These often have a similarly shaped white mass of corn flour will be served.

For breakfast there are sometimes Pape, which I personally to paste looks and tastes the same. It is eaten with milk and sugar. Similar looks Costard, reminiscent but more like pudding. It comes in different flavors and it is eaten with milk.

This is the food, which I have come into contact in Lagos. There may be even more dishes, but with the other volunteers I've come to the conclusion that there are a few different dishes. I hope I have shown nothing wrong, everything I have compiled from information from Nigerians and other volunteers.

transport food

If you come to Lagos should expect a lot of traffic. Lots of traffic, but no chaos, because everything works - somehow. Here on the mainland is hardly traffic lights, no signs, no crosswalk and no sooner find someone to adhere to traffic regulations. Here, first go all purely in an intersection, is agreed to before, whoever goes first. Everything following the principle: "the strongest wins. This must be said, however, that there are few intersections, but many roundabouts. On VI (Victoria Iceland) Iceland and parts of Lagos can be found on the other hand level traffic with traffic lights, traffic signs and rules. But since I'm not there often, I get like this with little. Here There is plenty of storage, but somehow you can get by forever. The drivers (especially taxi and bus drivers) are found in the master abbreviations. But it must have been here himself, to understand the system here.
serve as public transport here:

The Lagbusse, the rather European travel along a certain line with bus stops, but have no precise timetables.

"Yellow Bus", light trucks, which often originate from Europe and slogans such as "Flowers and Gifts paradise" or "Bakery Mueller" have. You go along a certain line, but to see the rare bus stops and can be got out pretty much everywhere. The money is often collected by the driver or an accomplice, and in smaller amounts to 10-50 trips Naira (5-25 cents).
drive longer distances to more distant villages and towns, but said they expect as a passenger to have to go with a live goat in the trunk, which can cover your backpack with feces. small, open vehicles in India with three wheels - -

faster but also more expensive, Keke Napep the meandering beside the stationary cars. They work much like the "Yellow Bus", three people behind and carry one next to the driver on the driver's bank run, but also surcharge like to other routes.

taxis are more expensive, but for a price of 4 euros an hour is still considerably cheaper than German taxes.

faster than taxis, but only for short distances, are the Okada. Motorcycles, on which up to two people can get behind the driver. Okada is the ride with a fast but also dangerous because the driver was at an incredible speed between cars meandering and taking sharp turns.

The streets can be crossed here for full traffic, you just have to find the right way through the cars, motorcycles and Kekes. Thus, Lagos remains an adventure.

Silversmithing Courses Ottawa

from a typical Maedchenabend, first lessons, ancient temples, the festival of light and a joyful visit! A

We wältzen in sackcloth and ashes! Almost a month without giving of ourselves and the exciting and colorful South India sound, while so much has happened in the time.
We are trying times to start over and nothing to forget.
Am 27.09. was surprisingly quite spontaneously clear that the Vikasana-girl, Ezra and Annika, for one night and to celebrate my (Milena) 21 Birthday with lice and packaging would advance here. That's right people with lice, but sooner or later we will get it anyway so why the visit to drop into the water because of such trivialities! The anticipation was so huge I tell you we can.
Monday prior to their arrival we had our super-mentor to be related to us and a dictated, miles of shopping list, the two Vikasana-range eggs, pure drive to Hassan and to purchase basic items such as cleaning products, fruits, sweets and especially the rare gift of toilet paper in huge quantities. The man, the inconspicuous, tiny street shops where we ordered 10 rolls of white treasure seemed, the business of his life to have made, because he gave us specialty of India, which up until now on a large sheet but like so much avoid this totally good should be to the health or make mood and condition tolerable cheerful, a Betelnussblatt and do a good portion of the reddish Betelpulver. Perfectly-timed was then also the awaited call, the two have arrived at the bus station and we need to collect only.
The reunion was a celebration!
the evening did manicure and pedicure, a vast orgy of eating and the 6th Season of "Sex and the City" girls our evening perfect. Until 3:30, we are merely celebrated the birthday and enjoyed being together with our other two India-adventurers.

The next day, before too premature departure of the girls, we rumbled over Poulouse director and Co. With a small but very fine Ueberraschungsparty in the hostel, including the blessing and strengthening spend for all.
was then the Vikasana-Spunk already over. (And also their head residents were not with us).
end of the week wobbled by degrees, by us for weeks awaited children from vacation in the surrounding villages, again in the hostel. (To the schonmal at this point to the point: These kids are the cutest in the world but, for us, but rather complicated name - but we get busy!)
The following week it was a beautiful morning: "And tonight when the children are back from the schools (at 17.00!) taught her just one or two hour "
Since the legs but were quickly taken in hand and almost panic, we searched for a suitable Teaching concept. It quickly became clear that we are the first time the basics, such as counting and alphabet wanted to scan. A picture alphabet was quickly crafted and we were full of energy. Since the Kiddis the already very well known and almost sang in the choir, then we could with our first group game "Gordian knot" and the song "If you're happy and you know it ..." score. A successful evening as we were.
the afternoon after we had a group of about 20 children between 12 and 15 years, that we painted with watercolors and wrote fact sheets. (A little surprising was that the children who needed help with writing less consistently painted the faces of the Exampeln that we had made of us, very similar?)
have
Otherwise we started to read with the children to help them in English for the Hausaugaben and paint with water color is still very highly. We are here in our home already hingehaengt a wall collage of the most beautiful Picasso.
On Sunday, 11.10. we made with the director of family and our mentor Super Sunny a trip to the famous Hoysala temples in Belur and Halebid. The day was also the premiere in a sari for me. In Belur we had a very amusing guide to the hairy India was 800 years ago in all things have been further than USA Today and the Americans would have copied everything anyway, but otherwise he had an enormous knowledge Belur and temples. We enjoyed it very much, even the rather peculiar pick-nick in the side of a ditch right-traffic country road, the expedition not detracted in the slightest. Deepavali or Diwali
, in German we would say festival of lights, is the next commit large high-light of our exciting October. To get into the biggest festival of the Hindus at close quarters, our "mentor of the mentor" Malathi had proposed the project directors to send us for 2 days in a family be celebrate the traditions great. For the two of us we went on Monday the 18th in the crack of
early with too much luggage, our super-Sunny and a little confidence-inspiring, ancient bus 2 ½ hours by potholes and dirt roads the way, nothing for Bandscheibenvorfaelle, Indian into Wallachia.

Once there, we were greeted incredibly warm and immediately had the chance, a cattle-washing and a Kuh-Segnung/Huldigung experience. Following brought Somshekar, the friendliest Field-organizer of the cutest children Prachodana with us to the edge of his fields under a shady tree where we enjoyed a few hours, the perfect rest and refuel used.
evening it was then a little busy, but we also now have the feeling afterwards that it consistently gave a very smooth and harmonious atmosphere, much like Christmas, has been. For dinner, were invited except us, only the whole relationship (about 30 men) and there were lots of different food varieties. We tried diligently us through everything you put us on the banana leaf and were bursting behind to fill. Climax for men and children was the firing of firecrackers. We affectionately refer to bombs or Luftanriff and are sure that we would be tarred and feathered in Germany, where they would burn down. Late in the evening we went
with an auto-rickshaw to our lodging. We have really enjoyed the first time not to fall asleep with the feet of the other in the face but to be able to chat for a while yet nebeneinandner.
with clock at eight in the morning we went to the Bike to breakfast at the home of Tejomurthy, another Field Organizer of the organization. Iddli, coconut chutney and milk tea provided a solid base for the day. To the bus station, we drove back to the bike and from there again mitdem bus. Diwali is like Christmas in summer. We have enjoyed the time and are crazy to Indian culture took another big step closer.

The very last of what we would like to tell yet, the visit of Malathi and Mr. Nathan is here in our project. After the visit on Thursday in the two Vikasana Friday came as around half past eight here in Hassan. After a big hello and of course a cup of tea they arranged the clock at 11.00 in the office after one had just made fresh at the hotel. We both had been of the morning let us wrap our landlady in the saris and excited at the two visitors Juchtzen joyful.
In Office, we held two met again a presentation about all that had happened since we had adopted in KKID traenenreich. Praised to the skies and happy we were riding in Scheinsgallopp Hostel, from site of the new hostels and our apartment, only to go to dinner in one of the nearby hotels. After the sumptuous meal we had a lot of time with our Indian substitute mother, who invited us into her hotel room and we have a very good "Girls Talk" had. Relaxed and fresh-squeezed Enhanced fruit juices we went again, still completely satisfied, for dinner. It was a really great day with good conversation, lots of encouragement, wit and humor and even more very good food.
are now extremely relieved to have us meet again at last rid of our debt and have sworn to it next time not to let accumulate again as long.

Fucibet Cream Is Good

The Goethe-Institut and the German culture

A bit of German culture can be experienced at Victoria Iceland (the better-off areas of the city). There is the Goethe-Institut Lagos, where you can borrow to learn German and experience German books German cultural events. But not only lovers of German culture, it is known as a cultural center. So far I have been there twice:
The first time I was with a few volunteers at a meeting nigeranischer former students who studied in Germany. There has been much discussion about the experiences in Germany and was shown a documentary about Munich.
The second time was on the German reggae band "Jahcoustics" with some local reggae artists. The atmosphere was great and the chairs lined up neatly fell into oblivion after a few minutes.
German culture but also lived out in Apapa. In this part of Lagos there is a German school and a German church, and many German to live there. Thence came an elderly Nigerians, who addressed us in German, because he has studied a few years in Germany. Just a couple of times happen to us that Nigerians speak to us in German, either because they have been to Germany or because they have learned the language only pretending.
German and generally Oyinbos you meet on the mainland, although rare. On the Islands (Lagos and Victoria Iceland Iceland), there are even more, however, either the ambassador, Bohrexperte for a multinational oil company or traffic engineer with Julius Berger ...

Mummy, Mummy, and the "Big Boys"

Our director or "Mummy, Mummy," is, as we have seen in a short time, a pretty big shot. She drives a Ford Escort with thick snake leather steering wheel with expensive materials and uses European perfumes. She lived 22 years in Great Britain, her son lives in Dubai and she travels a few times a year to Europe.
None of this means, together, they did it!
The dream of many Nigerians to become a "Big Boy" has to be to have money, old and respected by them. Prior to these "Big Boys", which most leaders of the volunteer projects are beautiful, all powerful in every respect and should bow down to them.
Generally Ages respected more, which means but, unfortunately, that the youth are not respected. Older people are addressed with Ma and Sa (Madam / Sir), the men must bow to the ground before them and the women make a curtsy, you should remove them and obey them wear things to see. Even older siblings can be with Sister or Brother ... and appeal, they have the right to beat their younger siblings.
Mummy Mummy-get not only by their age and their wealth of respect, but also the fact that they gave their lives to charity and just put the hospice on the legs does.

Letters To Words Tango

The old train station and Lagos' quiet church or

What I miss here a little, (next to the cheese) are quiet places in Lagos. One can find no parks, in which one can retreat, even a cozy cafe where you can talk quietly. Even ordinary park benches I have not seen on the mainland. Gruen one finds generally low and drowned out in the bars or cafes either incredibly loud the generator, or football games will be shown in the endless loop on television, making it hard to quiet conversation, too. However, we received the tip, poke around in the old station site. We went through a chained gate of the large station house, which reminds of the colonial era, to the platform and saw a jungle from cars and overgrown tracks. The grass grows to several meters high, the tracks are barely visible and leave the cars are fairly new and still around in the area. Amazingly for Lagos was that of generators, masses of people or vehicles could be heard almost nothing, even though the impulsive Yabamarkt is not far away. In this rest, we explored the inner workings of the cars, which were partially stripped of their timber. It feels like the open-air museum, although the cars were replaced in part at the end of the nineties. Inside, we sat down on the remaining benches, enjoyed the silence, we felt like we were just outside of Lagos and ate fried Yam, Akara and fruits. Later we learned that the station was abandoned because many politicians have forwarding companies, which freight transport could compete, so no new money flowing into the station. However, there are persons out of a recent railway station and the train that goes about once a day, will still run over a track at the old train station. This train can go north to Kano, which I would already be very interested.

religion is in addition to football and entertainment one of the three passions (as Miss Funke, one of the semi-bosses). Ever since I was here in a church, but I can say that the third passion "Entertainment" all passions summarizes, for the service reminded me strongly of a rock concert. Not only because the wacky sound system the relatively small room with the music of a band that consists of about four singers, a drummer, an electric guitarist and a key board player, zudröhnt, but also because the sermon, the slogans of the priest and the dancing and the answer word chants of communities in the dialogue between fans and music stars reminiscent of a concert. The community dance to every song, some screaming in ecstasy and some enthusiasm to prayers. During our first worship service even stepped on a hip-hop dance group. In between, there is also quiet times and for us "normal" church songs are sung and accompanied by an electric organ. The sermon is occupied with biblical passages that are read by community members. Thus, each has a Bible here and after the service is in small groups "Sunday School" as practiced in the Bible passages are analyzed together, which I found very useful. Bible is not the same Bible, because as different as the various and many denominations are also Bibles. We were with the director of "Eagle Heights Church's," which is just one of many evangelical and Protestant churches, which are next to the Catholic Church and many mosques everywhere. Religious
is pretty much everyone and that in Germany many are atheist can not understand a lot, because churches on Sunday or Friday to go to the mosque is self-evident. Thus, almost all spruced out Sunday, usually in their "Natives" - the traditional dresses.
The purpose of the collection is not the way you get to hear the money will benefit the most part of the church. Thus the churches are often well equipped and the priest does not just poor.
How important is the religion of the population, you realize it, it is argued that in many situations with the Bible, even as Frauke and I have put forward one of the Semi-Bosses Atheismustheorien, he brought the counter-argument, but faith is thus reasoned that it is taught in the Bible.
