Christmas and New Year's Eve in Lagos Lagos
There is also something of Christmas and the Christmas spirit, but of German Christmas is so far away like the heat here in the snows of Germany. It can be mounted many cheesy Santas and fairy lights, here and there one hears English Christmas time hit, but the atmosphere here is different.
are with the children of the Hearts of Gold, we in the whole of December to countless charitable Christmas parties go, which they, in effect, just like me, even more than had enough, because the parties always loud Nigerian music, people in Teletubby or Winnie the Pooh Costumes (before that had our children pretty scary) lots of food and gifts award by Father Christmas (before our children had more anxiety). Some of these parties were placed directly on the roof of the Hearts of Gold. Actually, the whole month of December is dangerous, because police officers to control more and want more bribes, in order thus to make their Christmas money and supposedly make more profit even thieves want.
Christmas Eve was very German and I solemnly with the other volunteers and potato or Pasta salad spent in Yaba, where most of us. The Christmas day I had to because of high operation of donors in the Hearts of gold work.
New Year, we then set, as our director did not fully understand or admit rather not wanted us on holidays and weekends not have to work and have worked the Christmas season really only voluntary. So I'm with a few volunteers went to the beach where we swam in the new year - with wines and sparklers. A few friends from the beach have then offered a beach hut, where we could stay together. Then we went to Ipara, a small village in Ogun State, where, after all the work and finally Christmas stress could relax again!
