Mikimoto Pearls Calgary

Ogun State

mitlerweile I have of my weekends have made some relocates to the neighboring, more rural state, "Ogun State". Only there is one is clear how crowded, dirty and noisy Lagos.
It runs from the outskirts of Lagos a half to two hours on public buses (VW Van), a ride in which it often times live goats or chickens. On of "potholes" (potholes) on roads, we go see past huge, luxurious private complex of churches, which includes universities and foothills of the rainforest.

Abeokuta
... means "under the mountain" and is the capital of Ogun States, which extends around the Olumo Rock, which is the main attraction of the city. This mountain, which looks like an accumulation of brown rocks, you can climb up and has a beautiful view over the city that gave us a little reminiscent of southern Italy. According to legend, a Yoruba tribe fled from a civil war among these rocks, where they could survive. The cave is still there and next door to the so-called witches Yorubagöttern as much for the survival of their people to sacrifice. The first time we are here with the host brother of Cornelius, another volunteer, drove the car. Since this boozy after last night but not as good, felt had to Cornelius and Vitali us then without a license, the potholes and traffic through the rugged city of Lagos through go home. Probably a unique experience!

Shagamu

lives here and works on a volunteer ICYE that I have ever visited. To the city is not much to say interesting, but apparently you will be struck that in the rural area almost every weekend held a celebration to come to the big part of the "village".

Ipara

This piece is really just a village and here you can fill up good energy for Lagos. Because a friend has a different voluntary organization and allows us to volunteer at the House of organization, living in the currently no volunteers to stay. Two weekends I have been here already and you can really enjoy the silence and doing nothing to cook, and go into nature. Because next door is the beginning of the rain forest, which is not as dense as a real primary forest. The life here is much more relaxed and you could put on the street without having to run over. The first night I was here asleep even problems, as the unaccustomed silence after a full-time noise from Lagos prepares pressure in the ears. Stuff there ...!
